How the method works
The Miyawaki method plants three to four saplings of many native species per square metre in soil enriched with organic matter and covered with mulch. The saplings compete for light and grow quickly into a dense, layered forest.
Part 2
Land and budget
A forest can start on 100 sq m, but most CSR projects use 500 to 2,000 sq m. At our rate of ₹2,000 per sq m, a 1,000 sq m forest costs about ₹20 lakh including soil preparation, saplings, planting and upkeep until establishment.
Part 3
What to report
Report the area, number of saplings, species list, survival rate at each check, and photographs over time. We provide these for every forest we plant.
